Dr Jonathan Nettle
Dr Jonathan Nettle is an obstetrician gynaecologist, fertility specialist and laparoscopic surgeon in private practice at Frances Perry House and at the Epworth Hospital. He also works as a consultant at the Royal Women’s Hospital.
Jonathan provides professional care that is open, honest, supportive and understanding. Jonathan’s style of practice is one that makes each patient feel safe, in control and empowered to make informed decisions.
Experience
Jonathan graduated from Medicine and Surgery at Monash University with Honours. He commenced medical practice at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. At this time he completed a post graduate diploma in surgical anatomy at the University of Melbourne.
Jonathan subsequently moved to complete specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Parkville. His training was characterised by management of complex obstetric patients and extensive experience in the birth suite. Jonathan’s advanced fellowship training centred around a combination of high risk obstetrics, ultrasound, gynaecology and advanced laparoscopy for conditions such as endometriosis. These years were completed at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Parkville and at Sunshine Hospital.
Having received his fellowship Jonathan completed a Masters in Reproductive Medicine with the University of New South Wales. He also undertook further training in infertility and works as a specialist with Number One Fertility (Founded by Dr Lynn Burmeister).
In addition to his focus on private practice, Jonathan is an active researcher in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. Recent publications include a paper looking at Vaginal birth after Caesarean section published in the Australian Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2018 and another in 2020 looking at the effect of epidural analgesia on perineal trauma.
Jonathan is member of the Frances Perry House Medical Advisory Committee and contributes to medicolegal reviews as RANZCOG expert witness.
Jonathan is also a mentor of obstetricians in training and is involved in medical student education at the Royal Women’s Hospital.
Jonathan is married to Jessie. Together, they have three young children. Jessie, Charlie, Isabel and William are Jonathan’s life outside of work.

Dr Vicki Carson
Dr Vicki Carson is based at Frances Perry House in separate rooms (Suite A). She delivers both low and high risk pregnancies. Vicki also works at The Royal Women’s Hospital where she is further specialising in ultrasound and is the Coordinator of the specialist obstetrics and gynaecology training program.
Vicki is passionate about holistic and patient centred care. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her three kids and husband, running, cooking and eating.

A/Prof Stefan C. Kane
A/Prof Stefan Kane is a maternal fetal medicine (MFM) subspecialist obstetrician based in Parkville, preferentially providing care at Frances Perry House. He is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based, holistic care before, during and after pregnancy to women and their families, regardless of level of risk. Stefan firmly believes that optimal pregnancy outcomes can only be achieved with a therapeutic relationship underpinned by trust, honesty and openness, and strives to achieve this for every patient in his care.

Dr Leesha Nesarajah
Dr. Leesha Nesarajah is a committed and caring obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 10 years of clinical experience. She has a public appointment at the Royal Hospital for Women and is a consultant obstetrician at Frances Perry House.
She completed her Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Newcastle in 2008 and was introduced to obstetrics and gynaecology during her residency years at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. She commenced obstetric training in Victoria at Peninsula Health and the Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg. Leesha completed her fellowship at Royal Women’s Hospital, Parkville as the Principal Obstetrics Registrar. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG).

Professor Mark Umstad
Mark has been in private practice since 1993. He has a strong interest in high-risk obstetrics, particularly multiple pregnancies, pregnancy loss, premature delivery and recurrent miscarriage.
Mark is the Director of Maternity Services at Royal Women’s Hospital. He is also a Clinical Professor at the University of Melbourne and the National Patron of the Australian Multiple Birth Association. Mark is also based at Frances Perry House, where his rooms are co-located with Scott.
Mark was honoured to receive an Order of Australia (AM) in 2018 for significant service to medicine in the field of obstetrics, particularly complex pregnancies, as a clinician, consultant and academic.

Tristen O’Loughlin
Tristen is the practice midwife, where she also works for Dr Vicki Carson. Tristen has a double degree in Nursing and Applied Science (Health Promotion) and has further completed her Postgraduate studies in Midwifery. With over 13 years of nursing and midwifery hands on experience Tristen is a vital member of the practice.
Tristen performs both first and third trimester ultrasounds and has done further study in both of these areas. She performs CTG monitoring (heart beat monitoring of the baby) in the rooms and can also administer vaccines as required. Most importantly, Tristen will see you at key critical times throughout your pregnancy to educate you on what to expect and guide you through preparing for birth and parenthood.
Following the birth of your baby, Tristen is available to answer questions and give helpful advice for your first 6 weeks at home.

Nicole is the Practice Manager. Nicole has over nine years of experience in the medical industry, spanning gastrointestinal practice, general practice and obstetrics; along with a traineeship in Business, with medical terminology.
In her role as Practice Manager, Nicole is your first point of contact for any questions or concerns you may have regarding your pregnancy. She can organise anything and everything for you. She is only a phone call away and is the conduit for so many of the essential aspects of your care.
